“Indie Week’s second night was mostly monopolized by my very important judging duties, but the reward came in the form of a surprise performance by Keith Rich and the Po Boys at Cherry Cola. Much like the sandwich from which they take their name, these boys belong in a dark bar somewhere in the back alleys of New Orleans. Their gritty southern inspired sound and simple music stylings, are coupled with a forceful stage presence, and great three part harmonies. The highlight this evening was their cover of “Man of Constant Sorrow” from the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack, a favourite of this writer, and performed way better than George Clooney could ever lipsynch. “
